A 24 year old man who had recovered from the Chinese virus was discharged from the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital in Trichy on Friday and was given a send-off by the doctors and nurses of the hospital. The man belonging to Erode had a travel history to Dubai when he tested positive for the virus. He got himself admitted to the hospital on March 22 after he showed symptoms of corona – cough and fever.
Apart from the regular treatment, the man was given counselling by the hospital to make him feel positive and better. Hospital authorities appreciated the man's proactive and responsible behaviour as often news of people hiding symptoms and resisting testing or visits to hospitals gets reported.
The man was discharged and was sent to his hometown Erode in a 108 ambulance. He was given fruits, 2 water bottles and some boiled eggs for his meal during the journey. Though he has fully recovered, he will be under home quarantine for the next 28 days. The district authorities in Erode have been apprised of his arrival and the doctors there would be keeping a tab on his health.
