Soumya Ranjan Patnaik and Sindhutai Sapkal from India are the winners of the first ever International Visvamitra awards

Soumya Ranjan Patnaik is the founder and editor of Odia daily Sambad, a feature film producer and a successful business personality. He bags the first ever International Visvamitra award under Journalism category. Indian Social Activist Sindhutai Sapkal wins the award under Maternity category while the winners of other categories are from Europe and Japan.


First ever International Visvamitra awards ceremony will happen at Siracusa, Italy on 30th November 2019. The Visvamitra Awards 2019 aims to reward the personalities who have distinguished themselves in the respective roles and areas and decided to give back to the society the part of what they got as a gift from life, from profession and from their own qualities.

"I am proud to host an event of excellence that focuses on a concept of life and participation in society, which is evolving and spreading from the East to our West", said the mayor of Siracusa, Francesco Italia, in a press conference presenting the event to be held at the Urban Center, organized by the Yoga Vidya Onlus, with the sponsorship of the Municipality and the participation of the Embassy of India in Italy.


International conference on Vastu by Swami Ananda Saraswati and and the Visvamitra Awards 2019 ceremony will happen at the Urban Center in Siracusa at Italy.


"The space in which we live influences our mind, our habits, our lifestyle, thus affecting our health and our destiny. It has ancient roots close to the Greeks and Romans. Roots that history is trying to understand. In this context, Siracusa with its rich architectural values is a direct testimony to bring together the architecture of East and West", told Swami Ananda Saraswati in the press conference.


Swami Ananda Saraswati, accompanied by Stefania Rossitto and Stefano Pipitone, told that purpose of the Visvamitra Awards is "to spread the importance and the value of contribution."


The Visvamitra Award of Excellence aims to transform the Visvaratha of our society, aimed at achieving personal success, to Visvamitra of the new era: those who are not only driven to achieve success, but who in their own path allow others and the whole society to benefit from it.


Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, the founder and editor of Odia daily Sambad bags the award under Journalism category. Sindhutai Sapkal bags the award under Maternity category. Sindhutai Sapkal, affectionately known as the "Mother of Orphans", is an Indian social worker and social activist known particularly for her work in raising orphaned children in India. The other category awards are won by personalities from Italy, Japan, Brazil, Switzerland and Romania.
