Remembering the deadly 9/11 terrorist attack in the United States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told that terrorism has now transformed into a "global threat" without confining itself any single nation. He stated that terrorism is deeply rooted and flourishing in Pakistan.

"Now
terrorism has become an ideology which is not confined to the boundary of any
nation. This is a global problem and has become a global threat and the deep
roots of terrorism are situated and flourishing in our neighbouring country
Pakistan." he said.

"More
than a century ago, Swami Vivekananda gave his historic speech about our
culture in Chicago and the world came to know about our culture in deeper
manner after this speech. But unfortunately, many decades later on the same September
11, a big terrorist attack that jolted the whole world took place in US"
said Modi.

He also
stated that India has taken strong measures to counter terrorism in the past
and said that India will continue to do so in the future.

"The
entire world should take a pledge and stand up against those giving shelter and
training to the terrorists. India is highly capable of tackling these problems
on its own. We have shown this before and will continue to do so in
future," said the Prime Minister.
