Uttar Pradesh Police DGP O.P. Singh has asked all the police units in the districts of Uttar Pradesh to conduct a campaign to find illegal Bangladeshi migrants living in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
This was conveyed to District Police Chiefs through a letter. In
this letter, the Director General of Police said that the number of illegal
immigrants living in the state of Uttar Pradesh is very high.
“At the current juncture, to
strengthen the internal security of Uttar Pradesh, it is important to identify
and verify Bangladeshis and other foreigners residing in the State,” he said.
The DGP also said that Bangladeshis seeking shelter in important
places such as railway stations, bus stands, new colonies and roadside area should
be identified. According to the instruction of DGP, the residents living in
these areas should be verified and this exercise should be recorded in a video.
