15 kids came united and did Lord Ganesha Pradhishta with their piggybank savings money
A group of 15 kids who are between 5 years and 14 years of age of Vadivelampalaya, Coimbatore came united and celebrated Ganesha Chathurthi. They bought Lord Ganesha idols with their piggybank savings money. They have also managed to do proper Pradhishta by performing Yagam and they prepared a small hut and arranged serial bulbs as reported by Dinamalar.
While talking to the Tamil Daily Dinamalar, "Ganesha Chaturthi is our festival. When we were seeing the elders celebrating the festival annually, we thought why should not we have Lord Ganesha statues and celebrate Ganesha Chathurthi. Here we have bought 5 Ganesha statues for Rs 1,500. Also we have made the little Vinayaka using the clay. Like our elders we thought we would also install flex banners. But with that money, we did Annadhanam for 50 people. Next year, we will hold a big ceremony and express our unity", said those little kids.
Lord Ganesha is believed to unite people across the regions and caste lines. By choosing Annadhanam over flex banners, these little kids of Coimbatore have proved that Hindu festivals are meant for Unity, Humanity and also Celebrations.
