Buses burnt for DK Shivakumar arrest in Karnataka! Normal lives of people in many areas disturbed!

In Karnataka, various incidents of bus burning, bus glass breaking have bee reported across the state condemning the arrest of former Congress minister DK Sivakumar from the Indian National Congress party.


DK Shivakumar was tax raided in 2017, when undisclosed income of Rs. 8.6 crore was allegedly found. The figure was later revised to Rs. 11 crore. As a consequence of his arrest, Indian National Congress called for a statewide bandh to show its protest. At the same time, there have been incidents of stone-throwing and bus-burning in several areas condemning Sivakumar's arrest.


Traffic has been diverted as protesters engaged in road blockade on the Bangalore-Ramanagara-Mysuru road. Two Karnataka government buses were burnt in Kanakapura and Harohalli areas. Stones were thrown on the buses. The police have asked not to operate the buses on the Ramanagara route until the situation becomes normal.


Although, there was no bandh announced in Bangalore, traffic on the Bangalore-Mysore road have got affected. Normal life and functioning of schools, colleges and government offices were also affected. Strong police protection is provided to Chief Minister Yeddyurappa's residence and the offices of BJP.
