West
Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is likely to have a meeting with Prime
Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Wednesday, as per sources from the state
secretariat. Mamata Banerjee will leave from Kolkata on Tuesday and the will
have a meet with the Prime Minister. Modi and Mamata met last time at the
convocation ceremony of Visva Bharati University that happened in Shantiniketan
on May 2018.
Both
the leaders are going to discuss about the issues related to West Bengal
administration in the meeting. It also should be remembered that the West
Bengal CM is one of the harshest critics of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"An appointment was sought by the chief
minister's office last week for an appointment from Modi's office for the
meeting. It will take place in New Delhi on Wednesday," an official from the state
secretariat said.
This
meeting is going to happen as it will happen at a time when several leaders of Mamata
Bannerjee’s TMC and former Kolkata police commissioner Rajeev Kumar are under
CBI scanner in connection with the Saradha chit fund scam.
