Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Bhutan on 17th August

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to neighboring Bhutan on the 17th. The Indian Foreign Ministry has said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet the Prime Minister of Bhutan Prime Minister Lotay Tshering. Prime Minister Modi goes to Bhutan for the first time since re-assuming the office of Prime Minister.


Modi is also expected to meet Bhutan's 4th king, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck. India and Bhutan have maintained good and friendly relations for long period of time. Good mutual understanding and cultural ties also exist between the two nations.


The State Department has said that this friendly meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Bhutan Prime Minister Lotay Tshering will give boost to the traditional political relations between India and Bhutan.
