Shiv Sena files complaint against Netflix for defaming Hindus

Cell of Shiv Sena party has filed a police complaint against the US based online
streaming platform Netflix alleging that the website is portraying Hindus and
India in a bad limelight through the shows it hosts.

Ramesh Solanki filed his complaint in Mumbai's
LT Marg police station and he had mentioned examples of Netflix shows such as ''Sacred Games'', ''Laila'', ''Ghoul'', and
also the standup comedy shows of Hasan Minhaj and leveled accusation on Netflix
alleging that Netflix defames India and the Hindu community.

"Almost every series on Netflix India is with the intention
to defame the country on a global level. It is with deep-rooted Hinduphobia
that the platform is portraying the nation in a bad light," Mr Solanki made this mention in his
complaint.

Mr.Solanki also
mentioned that, "I urge the
authorities to look into all of the above-mentioned content and take the
necessary steps from summoning their team to cancelling their licenses as
deemed fit. One cannot allow an incorrect generalisation based on bogus
rhetoric trying to defame a religious minority, that is, Hindu in
countries other than India”, and he requested the police officials to take the
required legal action against Netflix for defaming Hindus.

It should be noted that the Netflix series Laila was based on false propagandas, which projected a future dystopian world where lot of atrocities are committed in the name of Hindu Rashtra, which defamed Hindus and India in global arena.
