Yogi Adityanath working to provide jobs to migrants who returned
A committe has been set up to give a push to MSME sector and drive the rural economy.
Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath on Sunday, instructed his officials to form a committee to provide for employment opportunities to the migrant workers numbering over 5 lakh. These workers have returned to the state in the past 45 days since the wake of the pandemic.
The committee comprising of Principal Secretaries of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Rural Development, Skill Development and Panchayati Raj department will be headed by the Commissioner of Agricultural Production. The mandate of this committee is to provide for employment opportunities to these workers at the local level thereby strengthening rural economy, a government spokesperson said.
Employment generation under the One District One Product Programme to encourage indigenous and specialized products, organizing job fairs and helping small entrepreneurs avail credit on easy terms are some of the tasks given to the committee. MSME being the driver of rural economy, the government is looking forward to give a push to these enterprises.
CM Adityanath has asked the district magistrates to scrutinize the ground realities and decide on the relaxation of lockdown for business activities post April 20. These relaxation will not be applicable for hotspots.
