King Kohli reclaims No.1 spot in ICC Test Rankings

India’s charismatic skipper Virat Kohli
grabbed the No.1 spot in the ICC Test Rankings moving past Australia’s Steve
Smith after scoring a wonderful 136 against Bangladesh in the day night test
which took place at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Kohli, who has been in an active competitive duel with Smith over the number one spot in the test batsmen rankings, jumped up to the top, thanks to a poor performance from the Australian against Pakistan in their two match test series at home.

The 31 year-old is now five points ahead of Smith but would be unable to improve his tally as India don’t play a Test for the remained of the year, while Australia are set to take on New Zealand at home where they play three tests matches competing for the ICC World Test Championship.
