Irony: Lord Balaji to reside at Kalaignar Karunanidhi Salai
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam will be building a new Balaji temple in Chennai
In what may seem as amusing and ironical, the lord who attracts lakhs of devotees everyday at his hill abode Tirumala, will now be showering his blessings from a road named after the 'rationalist' and late former CM Kalaignar Karunanidhi.
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam is all set to build a replica of the Tirumala Balaji temple at Chennai. The proposed temple will come up on a 11.5 acres land on Kalaignar Karunanidhi Salai that connects the East Coast Road and Old Mahabalipuram Road.
It is estimated to cost around ₹100 crore. The construction of the temple is set to begin in 2 months upon handing over the land to the Devasthanam. TTD Chairman Y.V Subba Reddy met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister to invite him for the ground-breaking ceremony of Sri Padmavati temple on April 9.
The temple will also house a Veda Patashala and facilities for annadanam as being done in Tirumala. The new temple shall follow all pujas, rituals, sevas just like the Tirumala Balaji temple.
TTD will also be building a new temple for Goddess Padmavati at G.N. Chetty road for which donation has been done by yesteryear actor Kanchana.
